Behind the Scenes

With a song as earthly as “Running with the Wolves” by Aurora is, a forest makes the most sense. Choosing a forest that is “dance-able” is actually a much more demanding task than one would think. Halyburton Park in Wilmington, NC around 4pm created the perfect woodsy environment. The light filtering through the trees creating unique shapes and cast shadows that paired so nicely with the almost haunting undertones of the music. The choreography for this piece nicely complemented the chosen location with movements winding around and in-between tree trunks which developed the sense that the film was shot deep in the forest (and definitely not at all right behind a playground swing set!)
